The Jack Smart Lecture is a celebration of the profound impact Professor J. J. C. (Jack) Smart had at the Research School of Social Sciences. Each year, the School of Philosophy invites an eminent philosopher who exemplifies the intellectual excellence that Professor Smart championed.

This year, Gideon Rosen (Princeton University) captivated the audience with his insights on grounding, a trending topic in metaphysics, beautifully aligning with Jack's contributions to scientific realism and explanation.
